Issus d’une famille de pêcheurs (Bahri en arabe littéraire signifie “homme de la mer”), de parents Algérien,Yazid Bahri découvre au fil des voyages sa passion pour la musique. Autodidacte, il débute la guitare à l’âge de treize ans. Il puise son inspiration aussi bien dans le jazz ,le flamenco ,que dans les musiques orientales.A 20 ans , il monte son premier duo de guitare dans lequel se mêlent reprises et compositions (Paco de Lucia, John Mc Laughlin, Al di Meola).Durant cette même période, il participe à l’enregistrement de plusieurs disques, il accompagne en tournée Michel Corringe,Mory Kante, et aussi le Trio Jazz de Domminique Di Piazza.EN 1994, Yazid Bahri participe au concours Jazz à Vienne et remporte (fait rare) les trois prix disponibles : compositions, solos, originalité.Cette opportunité lui permet de se produire dans de nombreux festivals de jazz européen. Il joue en première partie de Russel Malone, Bill Frisel, Joe Di Francesco, Archie Shepp, Jacky Terrasson.En 2000, toujours avec des compositions personnelles, il créé un nouveau trio où jazz et flamenco s’entremêlent dans un style unique.

Yazid Bahri was born into a family of Fisherman (Bahri meaning Arabic man of the sea) Yazid Bahri discovered very quickly with the trips he made on his family fishing boat as a young boy that his passion is only for music. He is self taught and began his journey with the guitar aged 13 years old. His inspiration for his original music is drawn from Jazz and Flamenco and of course the Arabic Oud technique he uses with pick on his flamenco guitar. He is able to make very fast clean passages with his guitar pick that sound authentic to flamenco technique and leave you only wanting more of his music. After 20 years of playing he started his first Duet Performing the music of Paco De Lucia and John Mclaughlin Al Di Meola. Shortly after he recorded several Albums and accompanied the legendary Jazz master Domminque Di Piazza and trio. In 1994 Yazid Bahri performed in the international Jazz competition at the Festival of Jazz in Vienne and won all three prizes for his composition, solos and originality. In turn he is invited to perform in many Jazz festivals throughout Europe. He met and performed with Jazz musicians Russel Malone, Bill Frisel, Joe De Francesco, Archie Shepp, Jacky Terrasson. His latest project began in the year 2000 as a trio and is still active to this day. Some of today’s best musicians are self taught including Paco De Lucia and  Yazid Bahri as a self taught musician creates his own compositions mixed with the styles of Jazz and Flamenco but undoubtedly he has created his very own unique style.
